Higher HQA scores linked with lower mortality

AHA News reports on a study published yesterday in Health Affairs which associates higher scores on Hospital Quality Alliance measures with lower patient mortality. Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital used 10 HQA performance indicators to calculate summary performance scores for each of three clinical conditions: heart attack, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
