FAIR Health has released its sixth annual edition of its valued measures for deriving insights from healthcare data: FH Healthcare Indicators and FH Medical Price Index. Drawing on the independent nonprofit’s national database of billions of privately insured healthcare claims—the largest in the country—these two resources apply different approaches to illuminate different aspects of the national healthcare sector. Findings from these reports highlight place of service trends and patterns in utilization, geographic and demographic factors, diagnoses, procedures and costs associated with telehealth, urgent care centers, ambulatory surgery centers and retail clinics, among others. The findings also reveal median billed charges and allowed amounts for six procedure categories, including professional evaluation and management (E&M), hospital E&M, medicine, surgery, pathology and laboratory, and radiology.
