Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) released updated data for the emergency department area of FOCUS on Healthcare Website. This update includes data from April through to September of 2022 (Q1 and Q2).
Included in this data update:
- Wait times measures – EMS response time for life-threatening events, time waiting for a specialist/admitting doctor opinion, and other wait time measures have been updated.
- Delivery of care measures – Hospital occupancy, readmissions rates, and other care delivery measures have been updated.
- Patient experience measures – These measures provide the results of our Emergency Department Patient Experience Survey. We survey patients about their experiences with care during their visit to the emergency department.
FOCUS on Healthcare (FOCUS) is a public website that provides data about what patients experience in Alberta’s healthcare system. The goal of FOCUS is to present data from all areas of the healthcare system to create a whole system view that supports transparency and quality improvement.
