The following is a summary of the latest quarterly data update on Medicare Care Compare – Hospitals, data updated July 27 2022. Previously, all publicly reported hospital data and overall star ratings were not refreshed in April 2022, except Value-Based Purchasing Program Data, which were updated on the Provider Data Catalog in April 2022.
Notes for July 2022 data refresh:
Some claims-based measure (CBM) data will not appear in the July 2022 public reporting refresh. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS plan to release these results at a later date. CMS Patient Safety Indicator (PSI) measures will not be refreshed this year. The impacted measures are:
- Pneumonia 30-Day Mortality Rate (MORT-30-PN)
- Pneumonia (PN) 30-day Readmission Rate (READM-30-PN)
- Pneumonia Value of Care (PN VOC)
- Facility 7-Day Risk Standardized Hospital Visit Rate after Outpatient Colonoscopy (OP-32)
- Admissions (ADM) for Patients Receiving Outpatient Chemotherapy (OP-35 ADM)
- Emergency Department (ED) Visits for Patients Receiving Outpatient Chemotherapy (OP-35 ED)
- Facility 7-Day Risk-Standardized Hospital Visit Rate after Outpatient Colonoscopy (ASC-12)
- Patient Safety Indicator (PSI) measures
In this update, CMS has updated the 2021 OP-10 measure results to correct the calculation of error.
