Health Quality Ontario released new report that shows how long patients spent in emergency departments in Ontario hospitals at various stages and depending on their condition in April 2022. The analysis shows Ontario residents waited on average at least 1.9 hours to be assessed by an emergency room doctor in April. Low urgency patients spent on average 3 hours waiting in emergency room to be assessed.
The report included data from the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS), Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) provided by Cancer Care Ontario (CCO). Wait times in Emergency Departments is available by hospital, city and postal code.
