CMS has updated Long Term Care Hospital (LTCH) and Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Provider Preview Reports and are now available to participating facilities. These reports contain provider performance scores for quality measures, which will be published on Care Compare and Provider Data Catalog (PDC) during the September 2022 release.
Note: CMS performs the annual update to all IRF and LTCH claims-based quality measures during the September refresh of the Care Compare/Provider Data Catalog sites. Because CMS only recently resumed public reporting of IRF and LTCH claims-based measures during the June 2022 refresh, they will not be performing the normal annual update in September, as the data will not change enough to be meaningful. CMS will next update these IRF and LTCH measures during the September 2023 update, after which they will resume their normal cadence of annual updates.
LTCH Provider Preview Reports:
The data contained within the Preview Reports are based on quality assessment data submitted by LTCHs from Quarter 1, 2021 through Quarter 4, 2021, and for the LTCH Change in Mobility measure, Quarter 4, 2019 and Quarter 3, 2020 through Quarter 4, 2021. Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) measures reflect data from Quarter 4, 2020 through Quarter 3, 2021 for the Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI), Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI), and Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) measures, as well as Quarter 4, 2018 through Quarter 1, 2019 for the Healthcare Personnel (HCP) Influenza measure. The data for the claims-based measures will display data from Quarter 3, 2019 through Quarter 4, 2019 and Quarter 3, 2020 through Quarter 2, 2021 for this release.
One new CDC measure (COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage among Healthcare Personnel (HCP)) will be publicly reported on Care Compare and PDC beginning with the September 2022 release and is reflected within the Preview Reports. The data for the COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage among HCP measure will display data submitted for Quarter 4, 2021 for this release.
IRF Provider Preview Reports:
The data contained within the Preview Reports are based on quality assessment data submitted by IRFs from Quarter 1, 2021 through Quarter 4, 2021. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) measures reflect data from Quarter 4, 2020 through Quarter 3, 2021 for the Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI) and Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI) measures, as well as Quarter 4, 2018 through Quarter 1, 2019 for the Healthcare Personnel (HCP) Influenza measure. The data for the claims-based measures will display data from Quarter 3, 2019 through Quarter 4, 2019 and Quarter 3, 2020 through Quarter 2, 2021 for this release.
