WalletHub Releases Report on 2022 Best & Worst States for Doctors

WalletHub released its report on 2022’s Best & Worst States for Doctors, identifying the best states for those in the business of saving lives. In order to identify the best states for doctors, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across two key dimensions, “Opportunity & Competition” and “Medical Environment.” They evaluated those dimensions using 19 relevant metrics, grading each metric on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for practicing doctors. The data set ranges from the average annual wage of physicians to hospitals per capita to the quality of the public hospital system.

WalletHub identified the following states as being in the Top 10 Best States for Doctors: South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota and Mississippi. The 10 Worst States for Doctors include Rhode Island, New York, District of Columbia, Delaware, New Jersey, Alaska, Hawaii, Vermont, Massachusetts and Oregon.
