The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) have released updates to three admitted patient care data cubes, to include 2019-20 financial year data.
- The principal diagnosis data cubes provide statistics on the number of episodes of admitted patient care and length of stay in hospital for the diagnosis established after study to be chiefly responsible for occasioning the patient’s episode of care in hospital. The principal diagnosis cubes have been updated to include 2019-20 financial year statistics for principal diagnosis categories under the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 11th revision, Australian modification.
- The procedures data cubes provide statistics about the procedures undertaken for episodes of admitted patient care in hospital. The procedures data cubes have been updated to include 2019-20 financial year statistics by procedures and blocks under the Australian Classification of Health Interventions, 11th Edition.
- The Australian Refined Diagnosis-Related Group data cubes provide statistics on the number of episodes of admitted patient care and length of stay in hospital under a system that classifies episodes with similar diagnoses and requiring similar hospital services. These cubes have been updated to include 2019-20 financial year statistics under the Australian Refined Diagnosis-Related Groups Version 9.0 classification.
