U.S. News & World Report plans to introduce Best Hospitals for Maternity in late fall 2021. U.S. News’ goal in assessing maternity services is to inform patients and families who are expecting a baby and help them, in consultation with a healthcare professional, make choices about where to receive care for an uncomplicated pregnancy.
Proposed Methodology: A description of the proposed methodology, including data sources, measures, scoring, and weighting, is now available. The proposed methodology is not final and is subject to change as U.S. News receives and considers feedback from stakeholders. While Best Hospitals for Maternity will highlight data from multiple sources, most quality indicators used in the methodology were collected directly from hospitals via an online survey earlier this year.
Upcoming Webinar on Best Hospitals for Maternity: On September 16, U.S. News will host an informational webinar for hospital representatives regarding the proposed methodology. Register here.
