The National Office of Clinical Audit (NOCA) released the Major Trauma Audit Paediatric Report 2014-2019. This is the first report from the audit to focus on major trauma in children, who account for 5% of all major traumas in Ireland.
The Major Trauma Audit (MTA) is a clinically led audit established by NOCA in 2013, with a focus on the care of the more severely injured trauma patients in Ireland’s healthcare system. Since 2016, all 26 eligible hospitals have been participating in the audit and data have been collected on more than 25,000 major trauma patients. This report includes audit data from the years 2014–2019.
