As reported last week (AHT 1/7/21) the Joint Commission will begin the publicly reporting of two Perinatal Care performance measures on QualityCheck®, a public facing website. The Commission originally planned to begin reporting these measures in July 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic prompted them to delay these plans.
The two ORYX® Perinatal Care (PC) measures to be publicly reported online in January 2021 are:
- PC-02 Cesarean Birth
- PC-06—Unexpected Complications in Term Newborns
The Joint Commission said that according to data from Q4 2019, most hospitals have continued to submit data for the ORYX measures so they are optimistic this effort can move forward. They believe this will provide meaningful information on the performance of accredited organizations on measures affecting maternal and newborn health.
