The Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC), using data from the Colorado All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD) released a report on the use of telehealth services in Colorado. The interactive report – The Telehealth Services Analysis – analyzed the use of telehealth services prior to the onset of COVID-19, and the impact the pandemic has had on telehealth service use since March 2020. Updating the data every two months, this interactive report enable users to track trends in telehealth services over time and the impact on cost and utilization.
The recently updated tool shows how use of telehealth in the first two months of the COVID-19 pandemic nearly doubled when compared to the twenty-five months prior. Results indicate Coloradans shifted towards using telehealth services as a source of care for many elective service conditions. The analysis provides information related to both use of telehealth services as well as payments made to providers for these services.
