The National Office of Clinical Audit (NOCA) released the Irish Hip Fracture Database Report 2019. The Irish Hip Fracture Database (IHFD) is a clinically led, web-based audit which measures the care for all people over the age of 60 admitted to hospital with hip fractures, across the sixteen operating hospitals. The latest IHFD report details 3,701 hip fracture cases in patients aged 60 years and over, discharged by 16 hospitals in 2019, which accounts for 99% of all hip fracture cases nationally. The data provides detailed insight into the care, pathways, and outcomes of patients and allow each hospital to benchmark itself against comparable hospitals in Ireland and internationally.
