Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) released report comparing key measures of Australia’s health expenditure with that of other OECD countries during the period 2000–2016. Among 36 OECD countries, Australia ranked 12th highest in both population and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2016. In total health expenditure, Australia ranked 11th. The report includes health expenditure per person, by providers and by type of financing.
