New Data Brief: Hospitals’ Use of Electronic Health Records Data

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released its first data brief on EHR use that describes how hospitals are using their EHR data. Key findings include, as of 2017, that 94% of hospitals used their EHR data to perform hospital processes that inform clinical practice. This brief uses data from the American Hospital Association Information Technology Survey to describe trends in the use of EHR data among non-federal acute care hospitals from 2015 to 2017.
