The Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients’ (SRTR) 5-tier outcome assessment system will be going live on their public Website on February 5, 2019, after 2 year period on a beta Website to facilitate feedback and improvements. SRTR developed the 5-tiered outcome assessment system to make it easier for the public to understand and compare the outcomes of different transplant programs. The updated version of the website shows 5-tier outcome assessments for three metrics: survival on the waiting list (waitlist mortality rate), getting a transplant faster (transplant rate), and 1-year organ survival (first-year graft survival).
These changes were made following feedback received from the community and vetted through patient focus groups and randomized trials of various website iterations during 2017 and 2018.
