AHHA Calls for Establishment of National Primary Healthcare Dataset

Share this:

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) is calling for the establishment of a national primary healthcare dataset. Currently, there is no comprehensive, ongoing data set in relation to how and why people use and access primary health services, what occurs in individual consultations and the health outcomes that occur as a result of these services.

A Health Policy Issues Brief released by the AHHA argues in favour of the development of a Primary Health Care National Minimum Dataset. Recommendations have been made for a data set that assists Primary Health Networks (PHNs) core business and outlines those data elements that are required by the PHNs to be included in the dataset

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association is the national peak body for public and not-for-profit hospitals, and community and primary healthcare services.
