The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) has released its latest report on hospital performance. This report – Hospital Performance Report 2017 – evaluates hospital performance on 16 medical conditions and surgical procedures for the period October 2016 through September 2017. Results are displayed for 153 general acute care hospitals in Pennsylvania. Included are volumes of cases; in-hospital mortality and readmission ratings; average medicare payments for the state. The report highlights statewide and regional declines in mortality and readmission rates.
