The Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) has released a new visualization tool to enable users to explore data behind their 2016 Health Care Cost and Utilization Report. The main takeaway from the report: Health care spending is increasing because prices are increasing, not because people are using more services. To see how prices are contributing to health care spending growth, HCCI look at the overall changes in price compared with overall changes in use across a variety of health care services. The visualization tool allows for viewing the price and utilization rates for the different service categories in each year (from 2012-2016).
