Higher Costs, Lower Quality of Care, Worse Outcomes Associated with Economically Distressed Communities, Study Finds

A new study, published in Journal of General Internal Medicine, found older Medicare beneficiaries who live in economically distressed communities have higher costs, lower quality care, and worse outcomes. Improving those communities’ economic status is the first step toward better health.
