Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) released a report on the performance of hospitals in Pennsylvania for the period October 2015 through September 2016. The report – Hospital Performance Report – 2016 – evaluates hospital performance on 16 medical conditions and surgical procedures. Results are reported for 156 general acute care hospitals in Pennsylvania. Included are: volume of cases, in-hospital mortality and readmission rates; average medicare payments for the state. The report highlights statewide and regional declines in mortality and readmission rates.
