HCCI’s Data Enclave Now Includes Johns Hopkins ACG System Access for Researchers

Share this:

The Health Care Cost Institute’s (HCCI) Data Enclave now allows researchers who obtain an ACG System Academic Research License to apply the System within the Enclave. The Johns Hopkins ACG System is one of the world’s most highly-regarded and widely-used population-based case mix systems. Access to the System will help Enclave researchers to:

  • Identify case and control samples having similar morbidity profiles
  • Easily access concurrent and prospective cost estimates
  • Access all risk assessment variables produced by the System to support customization.

Enclave researchers already have access to a variety of software programs and statistical packages including the Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, STATA, R, and MATLAB.

The Enclave, administered by NORC at the University of Chicago, is a secure, virtual environment that allows researchers with licenses to HCCI’s data to conduct academic, non-commercial research with HCCI data. The HCCI data includes claims from the years 2008-2014 from three national carriers. The data include more than 50 million individuals per year enrolled in commercial insurance or Medicare Advantage plans.
