The Leapfrog Group released its 2017 report on high-risk deliveries. The report examined U.S. hospital performance in providing maternity care for high-risk deliveries as measured on the 2016 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The report found that more than three out of four hospitals that electively deliver high-risk very-low birth-weight babies of less than 1500 grams (3 pounds, 4.91 ounces) do not meet Leapfrog’s standard.
