IPRO Wins Healthcare Payment Reform Application Challenge

Share this:

IPRO is a winner of a Challenge prize that will support development of a prototype mobile application to help physicians report essential payment information to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Under Medicare’s new Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), an estimated 1.2 million physicians will be required to submit detailed performance data in order to receive annual Medicare payment updates. Physicians participating in advanced Alternative Payment Methodology (APM) arrangements will be exempted from MIPS but will be required to meet other stringent reporting requirements.

CMS issued the MIPS Mobile Challenge to find innovative ways to help physicians, support staff, health organizations, data vendors and others access real-time information necessary to successfully report on an array of performance measures. IPRO is one of five Phase 1 Mobile Challenge winners. Phase 1 winners are eligible to compete for a Phase 11 Grand Prize, after which CMS will choose features from the Challenge prototypes to integrate into education and outreach activities.
