The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has released its annual report on the state of health care in England. Findings in the report indicate many health and care services are providing good quality care, despite a challenging environment, but substantial variation remains. The report sets out the CQC’s assessment of the state of care in England in 2015/16. They used inspections and ratings data, along with other information, including that from people who use services and their families and carers, to inform judgements of the quality of care. The data on inspections and ratings in this report is for CQC ratings published as at 31 July 2016.
