Number of Philadelphia Area Hospitals Reporting Safety, Outcome Data to Leapfrog Group Increases

The number of  area hospitals reporting safety and outcome data to the Leapfrog Group continued to climb last year to a new record level, writes Philadelphia Business Journal. Thirty hospitals — out of a possible 55 — in southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware submitted survey data, according to the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition of Health. The GPBCH serves as a Leapfrog regional rollout organization in a partnership with the Delaware Valley Health Care Coalition.  The information is collected by the Leapfrog Group, a independent group of employers and health experts working together to improve health care quality and efficiency, to enable people and business to make more informed purchases of health care services.  The number of Philadelphia-area hospitals that submitted surveys last year represents a 10-fold increase since the coalition first began advocating 2012 with just three hospitals participating in the survey three years ago.
