The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released the 2014 data update to the non-federal acute care hospital HIT adoption open data. The update includes state and national estimates of electronic health record adoption, as well as health information exchange capabilities. The 2014 data update also includes state estimates of view, download, and transmit capabilities among hospitals, as well as, in its first year of collection, secure messaging capabilities among hospitals. The open data is available in CSV, JSON, and XML on the Health IT Dashboard, and comes with documentation for each data field.
