Share this:, The Commonwealth Fund’s free health care performance benchmarking tool, will be five years old this December. In a new post for Health Affairs’ GrantWatch Blog, Anne-Marie J. Audet, M.D., and Martha Hostetter explain the Fund’s reason for launching—to test the theory that making hospital performance data readily available and easy to use could facilitate and spur efforts to improve—and discuss the progress made in public reporting since 2008.

Audet and Hostetter also share highlights from a recent webinar in which three professionals with different perspectives—a provider, consultant, and researcher—described how they use in their work.
