Daytona Daily News writes Ohio hospitals want to undo a five-year-old rule (House Bill 353) requiring disclosure of their health care quality data on a state website, claiming it duplicates a federal requirement and is too burdensome. Most quality data on the state website — ohiohospitalcompare.ohio.gov — also is available at a federal website: hospitalcompare.hhs.gov. But it does not include all data, such as data on infections acquired at surgical sites such as heart bypass surgery, C-sections and knee surgeries. Read more…
