The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has released the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture: 2011 User Comparative Database Report, which, based on data from 1,032 U.S. hospitals, provides results that hospitals can use as one basis for comparison in their efforts to establish, improve and maintain a culture of patient safety. The 2011 report also presents results showing change over time for 512 hospitals that submitted data more than once. The report presents statistics (averages, standard deviations, minimum and maximum scores and percentiles) on the patient safety culture areas or composites assessed in the survey as well as the survey items.
