The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services released its seventh annual New Jersey Hospital Performance Report. The 2010 report measures hospital performance in four key areas: Heart attack, pneumonia, surgical care improvement and heart failure, each scored on 24 measures. The information is collected annually from patient and hospital records. The 2010 report reflects data collected in 2009. The state first issued a hospital performance report in 2004, focusing on the treatment of pneumonia and heart attacks.
