Quality, cost at Oregon hospitals compared in Web-based report Common procedures are shown in the state’s yearly Hospital Quality Indicators
The state of Oregon released its fourth annual Hospital Quality Indicators, that compares volume and death rates in hospitals for 11 different procedures and conditions, based on 2007 hospital discharge data.
The report found that inpatient death rates for congestive heart failure and heart attack have declined since 2005. While other indicators show promising trends, the quality of care provided by Oregon hospitals for the nine other procedures and conditions remain statistically unchanged since 2005.
