The department of health data committee has collected information on outpatient surgery looking at utilization and cost effects. Their database consists of 64 ambulatory surgery facilities. There are 43 acute care hospitals, and 21 facilities that offer ambulatory surgery. The data collected informs the public of health care issues, which are updated quarterly.
The report includes information on billing, medical, and demographic variables of a patient. The charts provide a description on the location of the hospital, along with the amount of beds available, who owns the hospital, and whether it is in a urban/rural setting. The chart also explains the percentages on procedures given for different surgeries. Each facility used in this report are given a 35 review day to ensure the public data matches the hospital.
