EQARR

Frequency: Annually

Measure Type:Process. Patient Satisfication

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) presents information on the quality of health care services. On the website, you can select a health plan to establish inquiries about their profiles. In 2004, they developed ‘eQARR’ measuring system to store their data. It is similar to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS).

QARR measures contain information using the national survey method called the Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey (CAHPS). This survey is collected every year. There is also another survey on the consumer’s satisfaction of Medicaid patients, which is collected every two years. The results from these measures determine whether the percentages (statewide/regional) have any statistical changes. The public can view health plans on child and adolescent health, women’s health, adults living in illness, and behavioral health.
