California Industry and Government Partner to Track Physician Performance

A Special Report in iHealthBeat features the California Cooperative Healthcare Reporting Initiative contract with the federal government to track physician performance. A unit of the Pacific Business Group on Health, CCHRI, will use data from Medicare and private insurers in California to evaluate the performance of more than 25,000 providers. CMS will make the scores publicly available later this year.

The Special Report also includes a preview of a soon-to-be released state report that will rate more than 300 surgeons in California.
